Can you believe that it is the weekend already?
I had so much fun finding and sharing family friendly events on Oahu with you last weekend I wanted to do it again this weekend.
Art on the Zoo fence.
Go on down to the fence along the Honolulu Zoo and across from Kapiolani Park to view and purchase all forms of art. You can even meet the artist themselves at this free event. This takes place every Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. till 4 p.m.
YMCA Healthy Kids Day
Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. A free day for Kama'aina and Military families at the Bishop Museum. There will be fitness challenges, games, and hands-on activities. This event seems to be jammed packed with fun activities. There will be free parking available at the museum, as well as at Kapalama Elementary School and Farrington High School. Twilight Tours and Zoo Lovers Day
The Honolulu Zoo is hosting two events this weekend.
Today they are doing Twilight Tours from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. This is a behind-the-scenes and after sunset look at the zoo after normal hours. You will learn about how some animals prep for sleep while others are just waking up. For this event tickets are $15 kamaaina/military adults, $10 for kids 2 to 12 years. $20 general adults, $15 general kids. Kids 2 years and younger are free. This will now be an ongoing event that they will offer every Friday and Saturday night. For more information.
Saturday is Zoo lovers day where they will have activities and crafts near the playground. These fun extras will be set up from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. kamaaina adults 13 & over - $8.00, Children 3-12 years - $4.00. General prices are Adults 13 & over - $14.00, Children 3-12 years: $6.00. Hawaii Ocean Expo
The Hawaii Ocean Expo will be going on this weekend at the Neal Blaisdell. They will have everything related to ocean fun from boats to clothing and gear. There will be a Keiki zone with fun interactive activities for the kids and educational information about the ocean. Admission is $6, $4 for Seniors & Military, kids under are 12 free. Hours are 10 a.m to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 5 p.m. on Sunday. Check the expo’s Facebook page for more information and for a buy one, get one free ticket offer.
This Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Young Keiki will be selling lemonade to raise money for the not for profit organization of their choosing. The kids have been working hard for this day from building their very own unique stands to creating their own recipes for the lemonades all for a chance to win $1,000 for their charity. They will be set up alongside the Pearlridge Farmers market at the Pearlridge Center. So come on out to support local Keiki and sip on some lemonade while you listen to live entertainment. Moon Walk at Waimea Valley
Waimea is hosting its first moon walk of 2017 this Saturday night. They will also be hosting a buffet dinner before the walk at 6 p.m. Adults are $29.95 and Kids are $12.95, the price for dinner includes the ticket to walk the valley. The walk to the waterfall begins at 8 p.m. and tickets are $10. For more information or to reserve your space for the buffet.
Storytime At Barnes and Noble
Every Saturday Barnes and Noble host a storytime with an activity to follow at 11 am at their Ala Moana store. This week's story is The Legend of Rock Paper Scissors. More information.
7th Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Kapolei Commons
On Saturday at Kapolei Commons, they will be hosting their epic Easter egg hunt. There will be over 10,000 easter eggs to be hunted down. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. and is limited to 250 kids per age group. They broke down the groups for 2-year-olds, 3-4 year-olds, 5-6 year-olds, 7-8-year-olds, and 9-10-year-olds. Each group gets 30 mins and it starts with the 2-year-olds at 9 a.m. After the hunt, they have tons of activities for the kids including photos with the easter bunny.
